Learn to play golf on a budget
64If you want to learn to play golf it is a good idea to get lessons. However, if you are unable to afford lessons, then you should golf with a friend who knows the game of golf. Most golfers that I know enjoy helping other golfers. In addtion, most golfers also have an extra set of clubs that you can use before you buy your set. I know I have about four sets of golf clubs. I should sell some at a garagre sale.
The best place to learn how to swing a golf club is at the driving range at local par three golf course. Start with a five iron and hit ten balls. Next, you should use the seven iron, three iron, eight iron, and driver. You should hit ten shots with each club. Make sure you take several practice swings and line up correctly and finish through to the target with your hands or flag on the range. You should also make sure that you keep proper balance. Don't swing too hard. Repeat this until you can hit good shots. You are trying to gove your swing.
Once you have mastered the driving range, next work on your short game. You can work on your chipping and putting by trying to chip on and one putt. You can go practice chipping in your back yard or at a public park. It may be a good idea to do this before trying out the golf course for the fist time.
If you are just starting out on the golf course I would suggest that you go to a par 3 course first. Every hole on the course is a par three and people are more laid back about playing so you won’t hold up play on the course. So don't start out on a regular golf course.
Remember the most important part of golf is to have fun playing outside and enjoying the day. If you continue to practice, then your game will get better. Don't get frustrated remember golf is fun!
